If you have every yearned to go a little faster? A little further? Or just got tired of the feeling of riding in quicksand on a mountain bike? Then perhaps the Pursuit is the bike for you. Constructed from lightweight aluminium with road race geometry. Shimano bar mounted indexed shifters for effortless gear changing. Highlights include 36 hole deep section alloy rims with quick release front hub and Shimano derailleurs. The larger 700c wheels with narrow 28c tyres and higher gearing make it easier to achieve and maintain higher speeds, than a mountain bike or hybrid. The Pursuit comes equipped with a 14 speed transmission, comprising of a Shimano SIS bar mounted shifters, 14-28 freewheel on the rear and a 52-42 double chainset. Powerful alloy calliper brakes are fitted to slow the bike in all conditions.

A good buy which should have been a great buy
The bicycle arrived promtply and well packaged, but when we assembled the bike, the front tire would not stay up when pumped.

My husband took the tire off and found that a) the protected strip inside the rim of the wheel had been inserted wrong and was all twisted, so he had to fix this problem so that the spokes were not in direct contact with the tube. Next, he checked the tube and found 3 holes in it which he had to patch.

Im sure you will agree, this is not what someone would expect from a brand new

Cracking bike
Just been out on my new bike today! It goes like a dream. Great wee bike that I got for cycling to and from work. Had a bit of a bother sorting the brakes but not too difficult, just a bit fiddly!

Nice inexpensive bike
I have received this today and assembled it straight away.

Firstly, I have knocked off a star since only one allen key was supplied, but two sizes were needed for assembly. I don't feel this is a big problem though since there is no excuse for not owning a set of your own.

I took it out for a quick test spin and was later confident enough to ride for about an hour. I already had a replacement saddle so can't comment on that but it looked better than the typical saddle provided with a bike in this price range.

Overall very nice, quite light and as such, very quick. I am used to riding a mountain bike so it feels a bit odd riding a hybrid, but I am confident that I'll get used to it.

Included are metal mudguards, the rear is pre fitted and the front is simple enough. This also comes with a pre installed pannier rack. These are nifty features despite not being overly important for me.

To summarise, a really nice bike. I will update...

poorly built at factory
As a beginner cyclist I thought this seemed like a good place to start.The bike arrived well packaged and promptly.However the front forks were on the wrong way,the bolts supplied to fit the mud gaurd had no thread and wouldn't tighten and finally the back tyre blew the moment I sat on the bike-and no I am not the size of an elephant.
That said my local bike shop sorted out the lot for a tenner and now I am delighted with the bike.A smooth and comfortable ride

A good bike for the money
We bought this bike for my daughter as it was the nearest to the look of a Dawes bike that we could find, but at a quarter the price. It arrived really promptly and was well-packaged. It was fairly straight-forward to put together, but this was no thanks to the instructions, which were not clear at all. Luckily, we had read a review that explained how we needed to turn the forks around before fixing the front wheel, as we would not have done this otherwise. The bike looks really good and, so far, is performing well - a good bike for the money it cost.

Great Purchase
Superior purchase from a superior company. Bike arrived with a puncture but Elswick sent out a replacement by return post. Cannot recommend the product or the company highly enough. The bike arrived early, was very easy to assemble and every thing worked properly first time. If i had 1 niggle it would be that no adaptor was supplied and i was unable to pump the tyres up straight away.

Ordered Friday evening received Monday 9am at no delivery costs .Put it together in 30 mins and in3 days have 35miles with no problems Infact I am enjoying a new experience having been used to an hybrid and covering 200 miles per week.My fiend in France wants me to get one for him but I am unable to ascertain whether Elswick can deliver to France and if so the cost.
