Sigma.........German engineering, say no more!
I was sold on this brand after I watched the video on Sigma's website!! As with all things German you can be sure it is a precision piece of engineering and every function has been peticously thought over. The moment you remove the item from the box you can instantly tell this is the case, the product has every function you could want and once you have used it a few times navigating those functions becomes second nature. My friend bought one at the same time and to be honest we have both experienced some issues with the computer not reading speed or cadence and vice versa. After a bit of frustration the cause of the problem was established; not having the sensors close enough to the readers or the computer not mounted in the fixed handlebar housing properly. My advice would be to use the rubber caskets to secure the sensors to ensure the computer is recieving a strong signal before using the cable ties to permanenly fix them. The display screen is nice and big and easy to read...

Great if you've poor eyesight
Previously I used a basic 'CATEYE' cycling computer which was fine until it got old and I struggled to read the text while cycling. I bought this new Sigma 1609 having read everyone else's reviews and I have to say it's wonderful. Simple to install (and I ain't technical but be sure to use the U tube videos) simple to use and simple to read. My favourite detail has to be the quick twist release aspect to remove it from the bike.
The only reason I don't give the five stars is that I've tried and tried but its virtually impossible to use the screen light while cycling (I've given up) and it doesn't sync as well as it might with the docking station (sold separately) although once it does it's great. The best feature to use while cycling is the cadence, to keep this up where it should be you'll find yourself in the higher gears cycling faster and guess what you'll sweat more but feel great. Great German product!!
