The Veloset GPS Receiver displays speed, distance (Miles/Kilometres/Nautical) , trip time and altitude. It records your GPS co-ordinates at a pre-set interval of every second . I've found this unit pretty good. Generally it's quite accurate and works efficiently. I can't really say the same about the software which comes with it - you have to take some of the results with a pinch of salt - it once recorded my average speed (on the bike) as 182 mph! Haven't quite reached that yet...
Having said that the idea of integrating with Google maps and Google Earth is a very good one and I'm sure they will sort the bugs out soon. I must commend the after sales service from Veloset - it has been excellent and any questions I have had have been answered fully and competently - I'd highly recommend them.
All in all I think the unit is a good buy and a lot less expensive than other models offering similar functions

Neat little unit, similar in size to a large cycle computer, can be fitted to a bike using the supplied bracket or carried in a pocket or bag (useful for walking)
Reasonably quick to get satellite fix
Very good battery life and charges quickly off usb
Two bottom buttons are of a touch variety (similar to a touchscreen) are a bit fiddly and cannot be operated by gloved fingers
Large storage capacity for gps tracks
Requires included Windows only software to download tracks - I have not managed to make it work with Linux
Exports tracks as kml or gpx which can be used in Google Earth or ridewithgps.com or similar
Recorded trip distance (and presumably speed) on units own display are not accurate - down by 8% on one 90 mile ride
Overall, it is a useful gps tracker and good value for money - if you want accurate speed and distance a conventional computer might be better
