I've got a new bike!
I love the style of this bike. It looks beautiful, and the whole thing is clearly designed for rider comfort. A degree in mechanical engineering would have been nice when assembling all the loose bits, but most of my struggles were due entirely to my own incompetence. Does one attach the front mudguard to the rear of the forks or to the front? I guessed wrongly. One attaches the mudguard to the rear of the forks. This was immensely fiddly to my ham-fists, but finally I detached the mudguard and attached it correctly to the rear, only to find that one of its supporting legs had slyly woven itself in among the spokes while I wasn't looking. So again I had to disassemble the mudguard and start again. Tip: Make sure the supporting legs are clear of the spokes before you begin. Attaching the basket (a thing of copious volume) and its supports would have tested the skills of Isembard Kingdom Brunel. The difficulty was overcome, however, by my beloved spouse lending a pair of hands which...
