Bargain, bought one of these to see how good they were as it is the same price as a really basic one. Its such good value and feels nice and solid, that i then bought another. It locks to the roof rack of the car, and locks to the bike, so securing the bike to the roof of your car. The basic ones only have thumb tightened bolts, so would be really easy to nick the bike. For the price its a bargain, cheers amazon.

Really well made, just not long enough.
If they are not going to make them any longer and many others have the same problem then they should print what the maximum wheel centres are that the carrier will accommodate.
My wheel centres are 1200mm and the carrier was no where near, most bikes wont have this centre width though.
I got round it by popping off one of the end covers with a screwdriver (they have a small plastic pin in a hole, see diagram)removing all the components and replacing with the wheel mounts the other way round, so they face outwards.
Try it if you have the same problem, it should work for you.
One other thing that's a pain, if you buy 2, as i did, the locks are not reversible so one carrier when fitted then has the locks towards the centre of the roof, making them difficult to get at.
