Cateye Adventure Cycling Computer - passable
I bought this product as a replacement for an old Cateye OS1.1 which I loved. The computer itself can give you a ton of data while you are riding and the screen size is ok, but there is not actually much to get excited about. That is about it for the pros.
The cons:
The display is not customizable, so you can only see the certain information on certain screens rather than choosing your own format, ie you cannot see altitude, temperature, distance and speed all at the same time only speed altitude, grade, and average speed (arbitrary examples).
The button system is terrible, the one on the front is difficult to push, recalibrating the altimeter means playing with tiny buttons on the back and overall changing and settings is a right pain. Why not make it a bit bigger and more user friendly?
Heavy rain. This computer is the "adventure cycling computer" right? Day one I spent about 6 hours riding in a steady rain, by about hour 3 the display would no longer change...

Cateye Cycle Computer / Altimeter
I'm generally pleased with the Cateye computer - it's well designed in terms of use and adjustment. However the altimeter is a little more difficult. You need to adjust the altimeter if you take your bike on a train for example to suit your new location - as the altimeter doesn't function unless "live" on the bike. Altimeter however is very sensitive to within a few metres of height change which I'm pleased about. ........................This is a later edit of my review - the setting buttons failed to work after about a year of use so I was unable to use it (except as a thermometer!)
