Move over Mark Cavendish MBE.....
OK, so perhaps I'm not quite in Mark's league, but as someone looking to ride something other than a mountain bike to get in trim, and not wanting to pay a fortune for something before I decide I'm going to commit long term, this bike ticks a lot of boxes. It's a nice looking model, very well put together and after only 4 or 5 weeks use I'm chuffed to bits. As I'm finding out, specification amongst riders is very subjective and there's a lot of snobbery when it comes to serious athletes with VERY expensive machines, but as far as this model is concerned you get an awful lot of bike for your money. Lightweight alloy frame, alloy rims, 21-speed Shimano etc. and it rides nicely. I'm really enjoying my time out on the open road and even now I'm dreaming about trading up to something later in the year but only if I can get a similar sort of bargain. But for now I'm very happy with my new Vivante. I'm burning up the calories and putting a smile on my face as I go. A case of "so far so...

Almost everything you need in the box
Bought this bike after breaking my old bike and I have been really impressed with the overall quality of it. It feels as solid as a rock (including the saddle, you may want to think about a saddle cover, or replace it with a softer one), and although I've been taking it easy I can tell the bike wants to go fast.
The build was nice and simple, taking 30 minutes in my lunch break at work, and comes with full instructions if you're not sure what to do. Then spent an extra 10 minutes at home adjusting things like break pressures and getting the tyres up to the right pressure.
The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars (and I know this is basically nothing) is that although it says everything you need to build it is in the box, it doesn't include the 3mm alan key you will need to put the saddle on, so you may want to think about finding one of these before you start building it. Other than that, great bike and great value for money.
