Good lock, but bear in mind ...
This kyptonite lock is a very good lock. Whether or not it is the lock for your bike may well be another matter!

If you will not be carrying the lock around with you, I would very highly recommend it ... although that probably does rather defeat the main purpose of buying it in the first place!

This lock is not lightweight, so if you do not want to carry around more weight than you have to I would caution you against buying it. It's weight also means that if you were thinking of carrying this lock in your bag, rather than fixing it to your frame with the supplied mount, I would look for another lock.

Having mentioned the supplied mount, it is my chief complaint about this product! I suspect, the lock will not fit within the confines of any bike frame in a way that enables you to take it out of the "EZMount"(I have a spacious 21.5" frame and it doesn't fit because of it). The EZMount holds the lock a significant distance away from the frame of your bike...

THE LOCK
The lock works fine. Unlike some of Kyrptonite's locks, you can fit the U-bar into the straight-bar either way round. I'd would caution against buying on looks though: it looks pretty in the photo, but in real life that orange bar is massive and very orange. I feel kind of embarrassed by it. It really is big, like a baby's arm or something. Understated it is not. Look at one in a shop first.

THE BRACKET
The real source of my buyer's remorse. The plastic is sturdy enough, but the design is just wrong. There is nothing EZ about mounting this bracket.

1) It holds the lock about 4 inches off the bike frame. Unless you have a *very* large frame, the lock won't fit in any place suggested in the instructions.

2) You can try getting creative and fitting it elsewhere, but the tightening-strap is either too short for, or doesn't tighten close enough for, any locations not shown in the instructions.
